ABOUT SPEECH AND LANGUAGE UK

Speech and Language UK is a charity based in London, UK, committed to providing support to children and young people facing difficulties with speech and language. Aiming to give every child who struggles with talking and understanding words the skills and confidence they need to be understood, the nonprofit designs innovative tools and training for nursery staff and teachers.  Alongside creating tools for education providers, Speech and Language UK also advise and guide families, and apply political pressure.  

OBJECTIVES

Speech and Language UK strategically partnered with ION to modernise and upgrade their finance and accounting solution and streamline workflows to save time and resources. Together ION and Speech and Language agreed that best-in-class cloud-based financial software Sage Intacct Nonprofit would be the ideal solution for their needs.  

As the nonprofit sector continues to face mounting financial pressures and higher costs, Speech and Language UK (S&L) recognised the need to upgrade to a more comprehensive finance solution in order to meet these changing demands. Specifically, the charity wanted to streamline and optimise their reporting workflows to save time and boost efficiency, boost user efficiency with a modern and centralised shared system, and they also required more advanced planning and forecasting tools to make better informed decisions to maximise budgets.

• Retrieve financial data quickly across both entities within 1 multi-entity shared environment

• Collaborate with other users inside the financial management system removing the need for email chains

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE UK (S&L) AND SAGE INTACCT NONPROFIT

ION worked closely with S&L to understand their individual requirements and deliver a bespoke configuration of Sage Intacct Nonprofit accordingly. ION’s team of specialists led the implementation process which involved migrating existing financial data and the configuration of the solution to suit the charity’s needs.  

The delivery was a huge success and the Sage Intacct’s implementation provided S&L with the tools they needed to meet their key objectives. S&L’s financial data was migrated to Sage Intacct’s centralised and automated system, meaning that all financial data can now be accessed from a single source of shared truth. Users can now collaborate within the shared system, removing the time-consuming back and forth of emails, and maximising efficiency.  

Sage Intacct Nonprofit also armed S&L with a comprehensive and advanced reporting suite.  

With cloud-based infrastructure, Sage Intacct Nonprofit can compile accurate and up to date reports at the click of a button using real-time data insights. The reporting suite was also configured to create tailored financial reports using S&L’s desired reporting template which ensures the effective use of funding with key objective driven reports. Alongside reports, real-time data and analytics are also used within Sage Intacct Budgeting and Planning to allow S&L to accurately monitor their financial performance, easily compare budgets to actuals, and make better data-driven financial decisions.
